We have an exciting new opening for a Nurse Practitioner to work as the Oncology Nurse Navigator • Lung for a hospital in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area.
•
Working with the?Thoracic Surgeon, you will?act as an advocate and educator for patients from point of entry, through diagnostic studies, diagnosis and treatment plan for cancer through survivorship. Clinical decisions are formulated in consultation and collaboration with attending physicians.
You will be responsible for coordinating a plan of care, including appointments, transportation, and education, serving as a liaison throughout the facility and in the community regarding services for this unique population.?
The ideal candidate will be good at developing relationships with radiologists, surgeons, oncologists, radiation therapists, hospitalists, nurses and other members of the interdisciplinary team to care for patients with a diagnosis of lung cancer. Other duties include tracking, monitoring, and measuring all aspects of the patient navigation program. And will be highly involved in regulatory preparedness, and in leading accreditation programs specific to specialty. •
Requirements:
MSN • Nurse Practitioner
Minimum of five years oncology nursing experience?
Licensed (or eligible) as an APRN in the State of Texas
Certification as an APRN
Current RN licensure in the State of Texas
Current Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) or obtained within one year of hire
